WHY WE CHOOSE WATERBORNE FINISHES?

Waterborne finishes are environmental friendly and have very low percentage of VOC - Volatile Organic Compound. They provide extremely high durability, and fast drying time that oil-based finishes can not provide. It's proven that waterborne finishes withstand the wear and tear of commercial and residential floors better than oil-modified finishes.

Many people believe several layers of polyurethane film finish will provide enough protection from dents and scratches. Very misleading. Every wood dents and every finish scratches! Basically poly finishes protects the stain/color against abrasion, and from dirt, and liquids getting into wood pores. This type of finishing method requires several applications of film layers. Group of specialists from Belgium created a product which colors and provides durable protection in one single layer. Rubio® Monocoat technology creates a unique and natural look of the wood without “plastic” looking film finish. Thanks to Rubio® Monocoat technology, the consumption is much lower than a traditional system. This results in a durable coloring and protection in one single layer. Once the fibers are bonded with the oil, the wood doesn’t absorb any surplus product – making a second layer unnecessary.
